Why Choose Us for Dental Implants?

Dental implants are replacement tooth roots made of titanium that provide exceptional support to crowns, bridges, and dentures. They are the only treatment that prevents jawbone recession after tooth loss. They are widely available, but many patients choose Foothill Dental because we have:

Advanced Technology

We use 3-D CBCT technology to take high-resolution images of the teeth and jawbone at our Salt Lake City, UT, practice. This technology helps your dentist provide the best outcomes by improving our ability to plan and execute your treatment.

Fully Guided Placement

All of our implant procedures are fully guided. This enables dentists to place implants in a precise location and at the right angle, resulting in optimal esthetics and long-term success. We use 3D images and advanced software to create your surgical guide.

High-Quality Implants

We use Hiossen® implants, which are made of biocompatible titanium. Hiossen offers a range of specialized implant systems that are designed to address specific challenges, and the implants come in a range of sizes and shapes.

Experience

At Foothill Dental, we have been providing dental care to patients from Salt Lake City and other areas of Utah for more than 30 years. Patients can rely on our dentistry team's experience and skill when choosing us for dental implant surgery.

Hundreds of 5-Star Reviews

Thank You Foothill Dental!

"Salt Lake City is the best dental office I have ever been to. I went into Salt Lake City a couple of years ago after not having been to the dentist in four years. I found out I needed a lot of work done... Dr. David Stohl spent almost 20 hours on my mouth and made my teeth healthy and beautiful again. I just want to thank everyone at "Salt Lake City for being so kind and helpful."

Paying for Dental Implants

It can cost $3,000 to $5,000 to replace a single tooth with a dental implant-supported crown. The cost of your treatment will vary depending upon how many teeth you need to replace and other factors. We can make this treatment a fit for your budget:
Image

Financing

We provide in-house financing and accept CareCredit® financing. Both of these options provide patients with a way to break up the total cost of dentistry into more affordable monthly payments.
Image

Insurance

While basic dental insurance doesn't cover the cost of dental implants, we will check your plan to see if any other services are included in your plan. Preparatory care and restorations may be covered.

The implant serves as a replacement tooth root. In this case, the implant is restored with a dental crown to replace the lost tooth from the root to the chewing surface.

Tooth Loss is Nothing to Be Ashamed Of

Whether you are missing a single tooth or several teeth, you are not alone!

Are Dental Implants The Right Solution for You?

Candidates for Treatment
While dental implants are a life-changing solution for many of our Salt Lake City patients, this treatment is not right for everyone. There are several factors we take into account when assessing your candidacy:

Oral Health

Other than tooth loss, you should have good oral health to qualify for implant treatment. Infection, gum disease, and other oral health problems can increase the likelihood of implant failure. Fortunately, our team can address most oral health concerns and get you into the best condition to undergo treatment.

Overall Health

We do not recommend implants for patients who suffer from certain medical conditions like uncontrolled diabetes. These conditions can put you at higher risk during oral surgery and impair your ability to heal. Our team will review your medical history during your consultation to make sure you can safely undergo this treatment.

Bone Density

Since dental implants are embedded in the jawbone, you must have sufficient bone mass to qualify for treatment. During your consultation, we will carefully analyze your jawbone density with our CBCT scanner. If you have suffered bone recession, it is possible to perform a bone graft to restore your candidacy.

Dental Implant Tooth Restoration Options

We use high-quality materials to craft your restorations so they look like natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Crowns

Implant-supported crowns may be recommended if you are missing a single tooth. For these patients, our dentists will place a single implant. Once the healing period is complete, we can secure an abutment and crown to the implant.
Image

Implant-Supported Bridges

An implant-supported bridge is recommended when patients have two or three missing teeth in a row. This treatment usually requires one or two implants in the jawbone.
Image

Implant-Supported Dentures

If you are missing multiple teeth or all of your teeth, implant-supported dentures are the ideal option. Using this approach, several dental implants are placed in one or both dental arches.

How Do Dental Implants Work?

Dental implants replace the tooth roots, giving them the ability to securely hold tooth restorations in place just like the natural teeth. They can be used to address any degree of tooth loss and can replace missing teeth in any area of the mouth.

The Treatment Timeline

If you have healthy gums and adequate bone tissue in your jaw, dental implants from our Salt Lake City, UT, practice are probably the best way to replace your missing teeth. In general, dental implant treatments involve:

1

Anesthesia

To begin your procedure, we will numb the treatment area with local anesthetic. If you feel that you require sedation to reduce anxiety during treatment, we can discuss this during your consultation.

2

Incisions

Using the surgical plan, we will make an incision in the gums and create space for the implants.

3

Implant Placement

Next, we will place the implants in their precise locations and close the incisions.

4

Osseointegration: The Healing Period

Over the next four to six months, the implants will integrate with surrounding jawbone tissue.

5

Abutment Placement

Once the healing period is complete, we can attach the abutments to the implants. This requires a second procedure in which we administer numbing medication, make an incision in the gums, and place the abutments. The gums are then sutured closed in a way that leaves the abutments accessible above the gumline.

6

Second Healing Period

The gums will take about two weeks to heal.

7

Restoration Of The Implant

During this final treatment appointment at our Salt Lake City practice, we will place your tooth restoration (the crown, bridge, or denture). Once the tooth restoration is secured to the abutments, treatment is complete.

So glad I came here! I have always had fear of dentists and they made me feel so comfortable! Dr. Bailey and her staff are just amazing. They got me in quickly, and explained everything so I wouldn't be nervous. They did not pressure me into any treatments that weren't necessary. Will keep coming here!

We love Foothill Dental! We’ve always received high level dental care from all the hygienists and dentists. Beyond that—they are the most friendly, caring, and fun office. The staff is amazing and works so hard to accommodate my 7 children I bring in... They also are very organized and give very accurate quotes for dental work before it is done. They are the best!

What To Expect After Implant Surgery

There is a four- to six-month healing period following dental implant surgery. Here is what to expect during recovery:

Initial Side Effects

Side effects like soreness and swelling are to be expected, particularly in the first 48 hours after your procedure. Apply an ice pack to your face to help reduce swelling and discomfort. Depending on the extent of your surgery, you may develop some minor bruising, but this should subside along with swelling after a few days.

10 to 14 Days of Soft Foods

We recommend eating a soft-food diet for about 10 to 14 days after surgery, or until tenderness subsides. During this time, foods like mashed potatoes, soup, pasta, smoothies, and eggs make excellent choices.

A Week of Rest

Many patients take a few days off of work immediately following dental implant surgery. While pain is usually minor enough to manage with an over-the-counter pain reliever, your dentist may prescribe other medications to help you with discomfort. We encourage you to get plenty of rest in the first 48 hours and listen to your body's needs as you begin to heal. Don't do anything strenuous until you are cleared by your doctor. A walk around the block during the week after your surgery is great; a high-impact visit to the gym is not!
Patients are welcome to contact our Salt Lake City practice with questions about their recovery. A member of our friendly team will be happy to assist in any way possible.
